Sunset Peak
Located in the South of Lantau Island, Sunset Peak is the third highest mountain in Hong Kong. You can go up the Sunset Peak through one of the three options. Option 1 begins from Pak Kung Au, which is steeper but shorter; option 2 begins from Section 2 of Lantau Trail via Nam Shan, where the path is relatively flat, but takes longer to complete; option 3 starts from Wong Lung Hang Country Trail, which is more steep and difficult.
From early autumn, the connecting ridges would be covered in golden silvergrass, forming an amazing landscape painting with more than 20 stone houses built on the mountain. This is a hot spot for hikers and photography lovers alike. In early spring, the peak is surrounded by mists – the perfect time to appreciate a sea of clouds.
