Ngong Ping Dancing Kites Festival was successfully held in Ngong Ping Village. It was the first time the highly technical maneuvers of stunt kites had ever been executed in the sky of Hong Kong while the giant aquatic kites were also flown. Visitors also enjoyed the fun in the kite making and flying workshops and the colourful kites exhibition.
Ngong Ping Drum Festival was successfully held in Ngong Ping. More than 25 drummers played Chinese and African drums at the 360-degree panoramic surroundings, in addition, the drum jamming workshops allowed more visitors to enjoy this fun and thrilling experience!
In Ngong Ping Shaolin Showcase, Shaolin masters impressed visitors with over 40 matchless blows of their specialty, including all sorts of arms and weapons, tiger boxing and plum blossom broadsword. Visitors gained a better understanding of the profundity of Shaolin kung fu by participating in the photo sessions and Shaolin Wushu Experience Workshop.

“Ngong Ping World Vegetarian Food Fair” provided visitors with multi-national vegetarian food at the food kiosks in Ngong Ping Village. A dance performance was also on stage featuring a medley of festive folk dance, contemporary bollywood dance and classical dance.
“Ngong Ping Drum Show” featured Chinese and African drum performances and parade in Ngong Ping Village. Visitors could also participate in the Drum Jamming Workshop to experience the joy of playing drums and percussions.
The “Ngong Ping Buddha’s Birthday Celebrations” jointly organized by Ngong Ping 360 and Po Lin Monastery attracted 240 visitors to join in group chanting, 8-minute “wooden fish” activity and vegetarian cooking demonstration by Nancy Sit on 11 May 2008. A new Guinness World Record for the most people striking wood block at a time was set finally.
